The Story Behind Latte Booth

Circa 2014 – The early days of Latte Booth, where passion for great coffee and community first took shape at York University.

For us, coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s a way of life.

Growing up in a Mediterranean household, coffee was part of everyday culture. At just four years old, James, our co-founder, was already grinding fresh coffee beans by hand for his grandmother, mesmerized by the process of roasting and brewing. Coffee was more than just caffeine—it was a reason for people to gather, to share stories, and to connect.

Fast forward to high school, where James and his best friend Nitzan (Nitz), now the COO of Latte Booth, spent countless nights studying over cups of coffee. They dreamed of opening a café one day, but with zero funding and no experience running a business, it seemed like a distant idea. That is, until one moment changed everything.

While working at a café, Nitz came across a small mobile espresso setup—a simple folding table with an espresso machine on top. He told James about it, and instantly, the thought struck: We can do this better.

So, in 2013, they invested everything they had into designing and building the best possible mobile café—not as a business idea, but as a passion project. What started as a fun experiment quickly turned into something bigger.

From a Passion Project to Canada's Largest Mobile Espresso Bar Company

For the first two and a half years, every dollar earned went straight back into the business—better equipment, a more refined setup, and a bigger vision. They didn’t push hard on sales, yet the momentum kept building. Event planners, corporate clients, and brands loved what they were doing—not just because of the coffee, but because of the experience.

By the end of their first year, they realized: This wasn’t just a side project—it had real potential.

Fast forward to today, and Latte Booth is now the largest mobile espresso bar company in Canada, serving thousands of events nationwide. From high-profile brand activations and corporate office coffee programs to luxury weddings and experiential marketing campaigns, we’ve turned coffee catering into an interactive, high-end experience.
